Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any prior yoga experience?

Not at all. These sessions are designed with beginners and first-timers in mind. Whether you've never tried yoga before or feel unsure about your body, you're in the right place. You’ll be guided step-by-step in a gentle, supportive way, with no pressure to perform or “get it right.”

What happens in a 60-minute session?

Each private session is unique and guided by your current needs.
Here’s an example of a general flow:

  • A brief check-in to see how you're feeling
  • Grounding breathwork or stillness
  • Gentle, intuitive movement or yin yoga (you’re always in control)
  • Opportunities to pause, reflect, and notice sensations
  • Breathwork
  • Guided meditation
  • A soft closing practice to integrate and settle

There’s no rush and no pressure. We move at your pace.

What do I need for an online session?

All you need is:

  • quiet, private space where you feel comfortable
  • yoga mat (would be nice to have) or a soft surface
  • Some comfortable clothes that allows you to move freely in (yoga pants not required)
  • Props like yoga blocks or blankets (helpful for better alignment but optional)
  • A device with a camera and internet connection
  • Optional: water or anything that helps you feel safe

Don’t worry—We will go over everything you need in the consultation call.

Can I participate if I have an injury, chronic pain, or physical limitations?

Yes. Somatic-informed yoga is highly adaptable and can be done from a chair, bed, or standing. You’re encouraged to listen to your body and rest or modify movements as needed. There is never any expectation to “push through” discomfort or “do it right”. You are your own guide here—I’m just here to support and guide you.

Is this a form of therapy?

These sessions are not clinical therapy, but they are deeply therapeutic in nature. Many clients find somatic yoga to be a supportive complement to talk therapy, helping them feel more grounded, embodied, and emotionally regulated. If you are in therapy, this work can align with your healing process.

How many sessions will I need in total?

There are no minimum number of sessions you need to purchase because this is about your healing journey. The total number of sessions depend on where we set the goal together. For example, if you just want to learn a couple of grounding practices, you might only need 2-3 sessions. When you begin to have the capacity to listen to your body, we can go deeper each session and start introducing some gentle movements, breath work and meditation, all based on your needs of that day. We can also discuss the frequency of the sessions, but weekly sessions are recommended for consistent self-care.

Do I have to talk about my trauma?

Absolutely not, we do not need to discuss anything about your past or stress if you don’t want to. That is why body-based somatic healing yoga could be good for people who may think “talking it out” at a talk therapy is not working enough for them. In the session, I may ask if there are any thoughts or emotions associated to the body sensations you are feeling. However, you do not need to share the details of the thoughts or the kind of emotions if you do not wish.
